ようこそ、花野井バプテスト教会のホームページへ。

　花野井バプテスト教会は日本バプテスト連盟に加盟するキリスト教会です。バプテストはプロテスタントの一つです。バプテストは全世界に4000万人の信徒がおりますが、最も多いのはアメリカで、故マーチン・ルーサー・キング牧師、ジミー・カーター元大統領もバプテストです。

　教会には、クリスチャン（信者）だけでなく、すべての方が招かれています。嬰児からお年寄りまで、それぞれに応じた集会もございます。初めての方もぜひ、お気軽にお出かけください。みなさまのお越しを心よりお待ちしております。

「救いの希望を兜に」

♦テサロニケの手紙一 5章4～11節

紀元50年頃、神を信じていた人々は救いの完成・終末はいつ到来するかを論じた。テサロニケ教会の人々も例に漏れず、度々議論したであろう。パウロは破滅を伴いながら突然やって来ると語る(4:13-5:3)。だが破滅は4「突然あなたがたを襲うことはない」と安心させ励ました。神の選びの中でキリスト者となった信仰者・テサロニケの信徒は｢光の子｣なのだ。｢夜にも暗闇にも｣属さない。主を信じる者は神の御前に出ることが許されている。闇に紛れて隠れる必要はない。こうして道徳的にも精神的にも｢身を慎んで｣この世的で勝手気ままな生活をしないように教える。一方で破滅が来るならば放縦な生活をしよう、と考える者がいたであろう。パウロは信仰、愛(アガペー)、救いを主張する
(1コリ13章)。この世の誘惑(悪魔の策略)に対して、神の武具を身に着けて(エフェ6:10-18)対抗するよう勧める。真理・正義・霊や救いという信仰の事柄を｢胸当て｣や｢兜｣に喩える。神は信仰者を9「救いにあずからせるように定められた」。終末は未来のことだが十字架上で死なれたキリストと切り離せない。主を信じる者はキリストと共に生きるのが大切。信仰生活には厳しさも伴う。それ故に、互いに励まし合いつつ向上を目指す必要があろう。

神は独り子イエスを十字架上で死に渡され、人間の罪を贖う仕方で救いを実現された。信じる者に神の国へ入る道が示された。これが希望である。兜は武将が自分の大切な頭や顔また首を守るために使用した武具。救いの希望こそ現代の厳しい諸問題から人間を守る兜であろう。　ＫＫ生

The Hope of Salvation as a Helmet ⛑

1 Thessalonians 5:4–11

Around AD 50, those who believed in God often debated when the fulfilment of salvation — the end times — would come. The believers in the Thessalonian church were no exception and must have discussed it frequently. Paul taught that destruction would come suddenly (4:13–5:3). Yet he reassured and encouraged them, saying that “destruction will not suddenly overtake you” (v.4). Those who had become Christians through God’s choice — the believers in Thessalonica — were “children of light”. They did not belong “to night or to darkness”. Those who believe in the Lord are permitted to stand before God and need not hide in the shadows. Therefore, Paul instructed them to be morally and spiritually self-controlled, and not to live carelessly or indulgently.

Conversely, some people thinking that destruction was imminent, might have felt free to live licentiously. Instead, Paul emphasised faith, love (agapē), and salvation (cf. 1 Corinthians 13). Against the temptations of this world (the schemes of the devil) he urged them to put on the armour of God (Ephesians 6:10–18). He likened the matters of faith — truth, righteousness, the Spirit, and salvation — to a “breastplate” and a “helmet”. God has “destined” believers “to obtain salvation” (v.9). Though the end lies in the future, it is inseparable from Christ, who died on the cross. What matters for those who believe in the Lord is to live together with Christ. The life of faith involves hardship; therefore, believers ought to encourage one another and strive to grow together.

A helmet is armour worn by warriors to protect their precious head, face, and neck. Indeed, the hope of salvation is the helmet that protects humankind amid the harsh challenges of the present day.
